The focus of my research is to evaluate and improve speech and text comprehension in attentionally demanding conditions (e.g., listening to speech in noise). Using functional neuroimaging and pupillometry techniques, I investigate the systems that support language processing with the goal of developing effective interventions that optimize both comprehension and cognitive effort. I conduct this work as a Research Assistant Professor at the Maryland Neuroimaging Center and as an Assistant Research Scientist at the Center for Advanced Study of Language.
