About: 

Peter Glanville is Director of Arabic and of the Arabic Language Flagship at UMD. He holds an MSc in Applied Linguistics, awarded with distinction by the University of Edinburgh, and a Ph.D. in Arabic Studies from the University of Texas at Austin. His interest in Arabic began in Oman, where he lived for four years, teaching English at Sultan Qaboos University before continuing his graduate studies. His research focus is Arabic linguistics and Arabic language pedagogy, and he is currently working on a monograph treating root and pattern morphology and the Arabic verb.
