About: 

I got my PhD in 2015 from the Department of Linguistics at the University of Maryland, College Park, where I'm co-advised by Valentine Hacquard and Jeff Lidz. My work addresses the relationship between word meaning and syntactic/semantic structure. It focuses specifically on how this relationship can be leveraged by learners to learn the meanings of verbs. Particularly fertile ground for this investigation can be found in the domain of propositional attitude verbs, such as think and want. I use a variety of methodologies in my work, including computational modeling, behavioral experiments, and traditional distributional analysis. Before starting graduate school, I received my BA in Linguistics from the University of California, Santa Cruz followed by a year at Maryland as a Baggett Fellow.
