Reflections from a Computational Linguist
Abstract: I've been slapped down publicly by Chomsky because he didn't think I was enough of a linguist. I've been slapped down by the guys who invented statistical machine translation because they thought I was too much of a linguist. All my degrees are in Computer Science, and I'm tenured in Linguistics. How did I get here, and where might I be headed? You want reflections? You'll get reflections.
Lunch served at 11:45 PM. Vegetarian options are available. Let us know if you have other dietary restrictions!
